OUR MISSION
Our mission is to empower and strengthen the City of New York with an added focus on the Latino residents of The Manhattan Valley and Upper West Side communities. It is imperative to assist them to become active players in the legal, social, cultural and civic climates via our Citizenship classes, English as a Second Language (ESL), GED, Academic Advisement, Computer Classes and referrals.
Dominican Community Center NYC Inc. was founded as a cultural group in 1995 by community members of Upper West Side. The organization was formed with the purpose of promoting and sustaining Hispanic unity within our community by organizing cultural activities and workshops which introduced the culture, the folklore and the history of each different nationality that participated. It also created an opportunity to improve the quality of life in the community. Between 1995 and now, Dominican Community Center NYC Inc. was and is a growing force within the community. During this time, we were preparing many in the community to become citizens of the United States.
This organization prides itself on offering a range of different services, from English, computer, citizenship classes, and also referrals.
